ABOUT KING’S CARE COLLEGE

Excellence Is Our Culture, Not Just Our Goal

King’s Care College spans six years of secondary education from Year 7  (Junior Secondary School 1) through Year 12 (Senior Secondary School 3 ). These are the years that determine university entrance, scholarship opportunities, and the academic trajectory your child carries for the rest of their life. We treat that responsibility with absolute seriousness.

Our College programme is built on three convictions. First, that every student is capable of excellence when given the right environment, expectations, and support. Second, that examination success and genuine understanding are not the same thing, and we pursue both. Third, that a secondary school education should produce not just qualified graduates but mature, principled, and purposeful young adults.

Our teachers at the college level are experienced, qualified subject specialists who bring both academic expertise and genuine investment in their students’ success. Class sizes are managed to ensure every scholar is known and no student is lost in the crowd. From Year 7 through Year 12, your child will be challenged, supported, and held to standards that prepare them for the most competitive universities and career paths in Nigeria and beyond.

Two Phases, One Journey

King’s Care College is structured in two phases, Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary, each with its own academic focus, examination targets, and developmental goals.

JUNIOR SECONDARY

Year 7 - Year 9 (Ages 11 – 14)

The Junior Secondary years are the foundational phase of College education. Students are introduced to a broad range of subjects — Sciences, Humanities, Languages, Arts, and Technical subjects — designed to develop well-rounded academic competence before the more specialized senior secondary program begins. Key milestone: BECE (Basic Education Certificate Examination) — taken at the end of Year 9. King's Care scholars are prepared rigorously for this milestone, which determines progression to Senior Secondary School.

SENIOR SECONDARY

Year 10 – Year 12 (Ages 14 – 18)

Senior Secondary marks the transition from broad learning to focused academic preparation. Students select their subject combinations — Sciences, Arts, or Commercial — and are prepared intensively for the examinations that determine their university placement and life opportunities. Key milestone: WAEC, NECO, Cambridge, and IGCSE — the examinations King's Care College prepares every Year 12 scholar to pass with grades that open every door.

OUR EXAMINATION AFFILIATIONS

We Prepare Scholars for Every Door That Matters

At King’s Care College, we prepare our scholars for the full range of nationally and internationally recognized examinations, giving every student the maximum number of pathways to their future.

WAEC

West African Examinations Council

The most widely recognised secondary school certificate in Nigeria and West Africa. A strong WAEC result is the primary requirement for university admission across Nigeria. King's Care Year 12 scholars are prepared rigorously for every WAEC subject.

NECO LOGO

National Examinations Council

Conducted by the Federal Government of Nigeria, NECO provides an additional pathway to university entry alongside WAEC. Our scholars sit both, maximising their options and ensuring no door is closed.

NECO LOGO

National Examinations Council (BECE)

Taken at the end of Year 9, the BECE marks the completion of the Junior Secondary phase. King's Care scholars are thoroughly prepared for this examination, which determines their readiness for the Senior Secondary programme.
